JOB SUMMARY

 MGT Consulting Group is seeking a transformative and entrepreneurial leader for our PK-12 Education and Facilities consulting practice. The VP will represent the PK-12 Education and Facilities Practice by leading and delivering large, complex client engagements related to our core services in this area, while managing and developing a team of consultants and analysts. The VP of PK-12 Education and Facilities will be part of the company's senior leadership team by devoting time and effort to company-wide initiatives related to growth, innovation, culture, excellence in client service and more. By applying deep subject matter expertise in a potential variety of fields within public education, the VP will enhance our existing service offerings and explore opportunities for market growth across our various government consulting practices.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Business Development/Procurement

-          Expand market share across Education Facilities and PK-12 consulting opportunities

-          Partner with Sales Operations for RFPs, monitoring bid opportunities, and sole source proposals

-          Attend conferences and networking events

-          Harness into established professional networks to increase referral contracts and add-on projects

Team Leadership

-          Forge strong relationships with the Facilities/PK-12 team, in addition to shared resources across the company

-          Develop and coach your team members

-          Offer training on subject matter expertise

-          Evaluate, recruit, and build out a best in class team

Company-level Leadership

-          Represent the practice-area to identify and achieve challenging goals that align with and complement firm strengths

-          Partner with other leaders to identify opportunities for cross-collaboration and client sharing

-          Contribute ideas to improve infrastructure and technology

-          Determine ways for the company to achieve organic growth through expanding current business lines and inorganic growth through new acquisitions of talent and firms

-          Promote company leadership tenets of mentorship, integrity, accountability, optimism and unity

Higher Education Expertise

-          Membership in organizations related to  PK-12 Education,  Facilities, and government consulting

-          Stay current on trends and anticipate creation of value-added services for clients

-          Maintain any necessary certifications

Qualitative and Quantitative Data Analysis

-          Oversee large scale collections of multi-faceted data

-          Identify, analyze, and interpret data trends or patterns in complex sets of data using statistical methods (such as descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations, etc.) leveraging appropriate software and/or technology as needed

-          Prepares clear and meaningful analyses of data

Client Presentations

-          Communicates and presents results of projects to client stakeholders

-          Travels on-site for oral presentations throughout the bidding process, project delivery and concluding recommendations

Project Management

-          Lead the development of the project strategy, deliverable planning, work plans, and status reports through entire project life cycle (from opportunity identification to project completion), by utilizing the internal project management software

-          Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and beyond client expectations

-          Effectively manage accounts and relationships to encourage add-on services to existing projects

-          Provide thoughtful leadership and best practices to the execution of work

-          Identify ways to enhance efficiencies and profitability in project delivery through technology or other cost-saving approaches

 

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

  • Reports directly to the CEO
  • Will have a team of Analysts and Consultants
  • Position based remotely

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree or higher in related discipline
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in PK-12 Education, Facilities Planning, Demographics, Educational Facilities or related fields
  • Experience managing a matrixed team of individuals with varying skill sets
  • Strong leadership skills, including people development, team building, and conflict management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working and building relationships with client executives and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects
  • Ability to be flexible to and adapt to the dynamic nature of multiple concurrent consulting engagements
  • Ability to travel between 25-50% of the time, depending on the sales cycle and client needs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate in a field related to PK-12 Education administration or Facilities Planning
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience providing thought leadership to and leading the delivery of facilities and PK-12 Education solutions in a consulting capacity
  • Membership(s) with professional organizations such as National Council on School Facilities (NCSF), International Facilities Planning Association (IFPA), The School Superintendents Association (AASA) and American Institutes for Research (AIR)
  • Experience with Mavenlink Software
  • Experience using data collection and statistical research tools such as Qualtrics or SPSS
  • Experience constructing and analyzing large scale databases and development of data models to support predictive analytics
