JOB SUMMARY

 MGT Consulting Group is seeking a highly innovative Human Capital expert to lead the Compensation and Classification work stream, as well as to provide additional strategy and guidance on Organizational Change and Human Resources projects, within the Human Capital Government Consulting practice.  The Director is responsible for the coordination of individual and team efforts in the collection of multi-faceted data (both qualitative and quantitative), interpretation and analysis of the information, and the preparation, finalization, and presentations of final reports.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Leads the Compensation and Classification work stream.
  • Leads the collection, compilation, and interpretation of data from multiple sources.
  • Leads compensation, classification, benefits, and performance evaluation systems studies.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets data trends or patterns in complex sets of data.
  • Oversees the creation and administration of online questionnaires and the compilation of results.
  • Coordinates and analyzes qualitative research (such as focus groups and personal interviews).
  • Prepares clear and meaningful analysis and communicates and presents results to a variety of audiences, including Executive Leadership.
  • Travels on-site as a leader of the consulting team.
  • Communicates and counsels regularly with clients, either in person, by email, or through video conferencing regarding human resources policies, procedures, and issues.
  • Stays informed on the latest legislation and regulations related to classification and compensation administration.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in human resources, compensation and classification studies, as well as a data, statistical, or analytical research related field, including one (1) year in a supervisory role in the human resources field. Proven analytical, database design, and analysis skills, including the ability to translate and summarize analysis and results into understandable, actionable reports, and recommendations.
  • Ability to analyze compensation grades, grade ranges, compensation steps, compensation plans, eligibility rules, and advanced compensation configuration and processing.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Specific Excel function knowledge and appropriate application for the following functions is required:
    • Including multiple levels of nested logic, MIN, MAX, AVERAGE, SUM, SUMIFS, SUMPRODUCT, COUNT, COUNTIF, ROUND, LOG STDEV, VAR, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, FIND, MATCH, INDEX, ISERROR, INDIRECT, CONCATENATE, LEFT, MID, and RIGHT.
    • Skilled in using pivot tables.
  • Experience constructing and analyzing large scale databases and development of data models to support predictive analytics.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (verbal and written). Must be able to lead meetings and conduct presentations to a wide range and size of audiences.
  • Ability to be flexible to and adapt to the dynamic nature of multiple, concurrent projects with competing deadlines.

  • Ability to work extended periods of time at a computer.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
  • Knowledge of FLSA labor laws and ADA compliance, job description best practices, and pay plan variations.
  • Experience in Project Management and related tools.
  • Experience using survey programming tools, such as Qualtrics.
  • Experience in consulting or evaluation.
  • Experience in analyzing pension funds.
  • Experience in labor negotiations.
  • Knowledge of operations, positions, and policies within, but not limited to, local/state government, public higher education, and/or PK12 education.
