JOB SUMMARY

MGT Consulting group is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our growing, nationally recognized Education team within our PK12 Education Solutions Group consulting practice.  The SVP will:

  • Lead a highly-experienced, national team of PK12 experts in the areas of strategic planning and implementation; facilities master planning; academic improvement plans and assessments; and school safety
  • Spearhead the development of cutting-edge solutions and service offerings that achieve exceptional client results
  • Lead business strategy development to continuously expand and improve access to the mission
  • Engage in strategic sales to secure targeted opportunities leading to maximum impact

By applying deep subject matter expertise, market knowledge and execution skill, the SVP will be a catalyst for scaling competitive success in the PK12 practice.  The SVP will be an exceptional addition to the company's senior leadership team and play an important role in the company's remarkable journey of impact and growth by translating their vision into transformative education engagement.

The focus of the SVP, PK12 is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of our organization and its strategic goals. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Strategy

-          Synthesize the company's strategic objectives as well as industry trends to identify, recommend and execute on initiatives that can meet the company's growth objectives

-          Build a trust-advisory relationship with the leadership team and develop strategic recommendations for improving and evolving the business

-          Work across company leadership to gain buy-in and drive implementation of strategic recommendations, while serving as a strategic PK12 thought partner to the leadership team

-          Manage engagements ranging from longer-term opportunities and threats, to tactical projects that support new and existing business objectives and priorities

-          Partner with other leaders to identify opportunities for cross-collaboration to maximize client value for MGT capabilities

-          Adhere to and promote company leadership tenets of Character, Purpose and Performance

Business Development

-          Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of the business and focus on issues ranging from organic growth, M&A, go-to-market, customer experience, cost reduction and operational efficiency

-          Define, develop, socialize and implement strategies to enhance MGT's PK12 market position and drive growth

-          Identify and quantify opportunity areas for new Education Solutions Group offerings

-          Leading the design of solutions to expand market share across the PK12 sector

-          Represent the practice-area to identify and achieve challenging goals that drive growth and profitability that align with, complement and expand firm strengths

-          Partner with the PK12 sales lead in monitoring bid opportunities and collaborating around responses to RFPs and sole source (unsolicited) proposals

-          Attend conferences and networking events

-          Harness established professional networks to increase referral contracts and add-on projects

Subject Matter Expertise

-          Bring deep expertise in PK12 education to influence the practice business and future growth strategies

-          Drive national and international thought leadership in the PK12 market through development of white papers, presentations, and other sector representations that enhance MGT's brand among prospective clients Develop and coach your team members

-          Offer training on subject matter where expertise is built into solutions

-          Work with sales and operations leads to evaluate, recruit, and build out a best in class team

-          Membership in organizations related to Turnaround Education and government consulting

-          Stay current on trends and anticipate creation of value-added services for clients

-          Maintain any necessary certifications

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

  • Reports directly to the CEO

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree or higher in related industry
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in PK12 Education or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience providing thought leadership and leading the delivery of education market solutions in a consulting capacity or related experience
  • Experience managing a matrixed team of individuals with varying skill sets
  • Strong leadership skills, including people development, team building, and conflict management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working and building relationships with client executives and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects
  • Ability to be flexible to and adapt to the dynamic nature of multiple concurrent consulting engagements
  • Ability to travel between 25-50% of the time, depending on the sales cycle and client needs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate in a field related to PK12 Education administration
  • Membership(s) with professional organizations such as The School Superintendents Association (AASA)
  • Experience with Project Management software
  • Experience using data collection and statistical research tools such as Qualtrics or SPSS
  • Experience constructing and analyzing large scale databases and development of data models to support predictive analytics
